You Can be In Charge of Your Smile

Many people feel self-conscious about their smile, but it can be for a variety of reasons. Some people have damaged teeth and have gaps in their smile, whilst others suffer from crooked teeth and wish they were straighter. Whatever makes you feel self-conscious about your smile, it is time for you to find out what you can do to improve it. Not being able to smile with confidence can damage your self-esteem but having crooked teeth can impact your general health in some cases as well.

At Sheen Dental in Richmond you are able to resolve almost any issue that you are having when it comes to your smile. There a whole range of treatments on offer and it is easy to book a consultation appointment to speak to a dental professional. Finding out about what different treatment options are available is important as you want to find the treatment that is right for you.

Seeking dental advice sooner rather than later is important to prevent more serious problems from occurring which will inevitably need more costly, complex treatments to resolve.

Do you wish that your teeth were straighter?

Having uneven teeth can damage both your confidence and your health, as plaque can build-up in areas that it would not normally do if your teeth were straight and easier for you to clean thoroughly. There are several different types of braces available now that can correct you smile in as little as six months in some cases. Generally, treatment is between eighteen and twenty-four months long, but this will depend on your individual circumstances.

You are able to have removable or fixed braces. Traditional fixed braces have metallic or coloured brackets that are glued to the surfaces of your teeth. They are connected by a metal wire, and are extremely effective at straightening your teeth, even in severe cases. If you wish to have more discreet braces, then the above treatment can still be chosen but you will have clear brackets connected to one another with clear wire, making the appliance barely noticeable.

Invisalign treatment is becoming increasingly popular, and these braces are completely clear and removable, so are even more discreet than other options. They consist of a series of sets of custom-made aligners to be worn. Each set must be worn for around two weeks, and they must always be worn for a minimum of twenty-two hours a day. They can be removed for brushing and eating, so you are completely comfortable and confident when carrying out these activities.

Have you got a damaged tooth that is ruining your smile?

It is common for people to chip or crack a tooth at some point in their life, and more often than not they are left feeling like there is nothing that they can do about it. Booking a consultation appointment at your dental practice will allow you to find out about veneers, a treatment that can completely restore your teeth’s appearance. They can hide any chips that you may have in your front teeth but can also make your teeth appear longer or wider, depending upon your needs. They can disguise small gaps between your teeth and can even improve the whiteness of your smile by several shades.
