Are Mobile Devices Ruining our Bodies? Find out Here

Nearly every single person in the world has a smartphone device in this day and age. While it is important to know that there is some merit to this kind of tech, it is wreaking havoc on our bodies in general. When you hold your phone at a chest level, or at a waist level, you may find that your hands are together and this puts you in a crouched position. This is awful for your spine but at the end of the day, it also creates a world of other issues for your body as well. These issues go beyond the spine too, so it is important to keep this in mind. If you want to find out how your phone could be impacting your body then all you have to do is look below.

Text Neck

The more you happen to tilt your head downward, such as when you look at your smartphone, the more pressure you put on your back and your neck. You may find that your spine supports the general weight of your head and the longer you spend looking down, the heavier your head will become. Doctors are now seeing head and neck problems in those who are as little as 8 years old. If you have tightness in your neck and shoulders, or if you feel pressure then this is a huge indicator that something has to change. One thing you can do to help yourself with issues like this would be for you to visit a Chiropractor in St Charles IL.

Wrist Pain

Even the way that you choose to hold your phone can cause a number of issues for you. When you keep your hand in one position for a longer period, you may find that your muscles never quite get the chance to relax. If you are experiencing some degree of pain, whether it is a shooting pain in your wrist or your elbow, or a dull ache then this could be because of your phone. If you want to do something about this then you need to stop using your phone as much and you also need to speak to a healthcare professional if possible.

Sore Back

As your neck has a hard time supporting your neck, when it is rolled forward, it does stand to reason that this could cause back pain. Think about all of the muscles that run along your spine, you will soon see that these help to stabilize it and they also support your head too. When you hunch over, you will be putting a lot of pressure on your back and neck, leading to all kinds of pain.

Phone Thumb

The muscles that are in your hand may well be small but at the same time, they can cause you a lot of pain if you often use a mobile device. When you type on your phone or even on your keyboard, you may find that you end up stretching the tendons and muscles more than you should, which again, can cause a lot of pain.
